This year I went to the Las Vegas 2009 Consumer Electronics Show or CES. This is the largest tradeshow for electronic manufacturers in the whole world. Everything that is new, innovative or hot is on display and most can be tried out. I walked the whole show and was particularly interested in the top massage chairs. These electronic and robotic wonders are getting more effective and sophisticated. Here are some of the best massage chairs that I found.

One of the exhibitors which I found was a Japanese company called Family Inada. Family Inada was displaying the Dream Wave Sogno. The Dream Wave Sogno was the winner of the 2009 CES innovation award. The Sogno is a very advanced chair with some very innovative features.

The Dream Wave comes with an advanced air massage system. This massage chair is loaded with air bags. In addition to the normal assortment for the legs and buttocks, the Sogno comes with air bags for the arms and the neck area. I thought the arm massage was a bit weak for my personal taste. I did, however, really like the air bags for the neck area. This chair was effective for relieving my stress in the neck region.

The Sogno has an advanced seat that actually rocks in place. The seat will pivot and provide ergonomic support of your back and buttocks. This was a relaxing position for the spine. The look of the Sogno is a little egg-shaped in design which may limit where it can be placed. It was also priced at $6,000 making it a very high end chair.

I did get to try the most expensive massage chair at the CES Show. The $8,000 Fujiiryoki massage chair was by far the most expensive. The Fujiiryoki massage chair has an FDA device listing and was being billed as a medical chair. This massage recliner comes with a shoulder press massage. The shoulder press is powered by an air compressor which activates airbags to squeeze both shoulders with a compression massage.

The massage techniques are very invigorating and relieving. The combination of good massage to the back with the rotation of air compression from the feet, calves, shoulders and seat provides for a thorough massage experience. The design of the chair is modern with black and silver colors.

Now, having tried the most expensive chairs at the CES, I was interested in how the Omega Montage Premier would compare. I liked the neck massage of the Sogno and the shoulder compression of the Fujiiryoki. The Montage Premier, however, gave a stronger massage and penetrated deeper. Another note was the supplemental items such as music, full body heat and a traction system which the Montage Premier had but were lacking in the others.

Trying massage chairs at a tradeshow with a million people around takes you being able to relax and forget your surroundings. This is where the Montage Premier shined. I slipped on the headphones and let the soothing tunes take me away from the crowds. The Montage Premier recliner then warmed me, stretched me and gave me a relieving deep tissue massage. I felt I found the right chair and at $4,500, it was the best deal at the show.

I also surveyed the entire show for Sanyo and Panasonic who have some great massage chairs. Neither of those companies were displaying their massage chairs this year. They did have some impressive Big Screen TV’s with crystal clear images. There were an assortment of other massage chairs, but they were just at the show to sell you a massage chair. I was afraid they may not be at the show next year as they seemed a bit too high pressure to buy.

If you ever go to a show to check out shows, you want to make sure that a company you buy a massage chair from will be there down the road. There are some companies that have great deals one year and then never come back to the show. Of course, there are new companies but you need to have the confidence that they will be there to take care of any warranty issues you might have.

The 2009 CES show was certainly impressive. It attracts over 130,000 people and they were out in force. I was able to get to try the best massage chairs on earth at one place. The best massage chairs were the Montage Premier, Sogno and the Fujiiryoki. These are all solid chairs with some amazing massage therapy and technology. These are the cream of the crop from the 2009 CES show.

The CES is held every year in Las Vegas in early January. It is the worlds showcase for consumer electronics. The attendance was around 130,000 people with over 2,800 exhibitors. It is so big that it spills over from the main convention center into the Sands and the Hilton Hotels. If you want to see the best massage chairs on the market, then make your plans on attending the 2010 CES show.
