Remember Chrissy from Three’s Company? This plan was developed by her. Suzanne Somers has gotten into nutrition and fitness in a big way. It started with the Thigh Master and has continued with what people are calling the Somersize diet.

Somersize gets its basis from the ideas behind several other plans. Eating food in certain combinations will help the participants lose weight. The body’s metabolism has to learn to function properly. Eating junk food and greasy fare has ruined our metabolism and thrown our bodies out of whack.

The diet places the blame squarely on white flour. Foods that are made with white flour or extremely high on the glycemic index. What this means is that consuming these types of food increases insulin production in your body. In turn, you become more hungry more often intent over eat in order to maintain your energy level.

Ms. Summers drafted this diet plan right after she wrote her book get skinny on fabulous food. While criticized as a gimmick thousands of people have benefited from using this diet. did, however, is not a complete plan but it does offer a helpful list of foods that you should eliminate from your diet.

The Plan divides food into four groups. The first group being pro-teen and fats. These two foods are combined because fat and protein eat together slow digestion. The next group is the veggie group. Veggies can be eaten as long as they do not contain a large amount of starch. Luckily there are many vegetables that fit this description.

The next group, the carbohydrate group encourages eating only whole-grain complex carbohydrates. White flour is to be avoided like the plague. Dieters are encouraged to eat cheese and milk but to avoid those varieties contain excessive fat

The last group: fruits, fruits are a great source of healthy sugar. There are no fruits that are off-limits, however, no sweeteners must be added. There is unfortunately a list of foods that must be eliminated while the plan. These foods are not just limited there completely excluded.

The guidelines are clear. Fats and proteins may be together but not with carbohydrates. Veggies and fats can be combined as well as veggies and carbos and veggies and proteins. You are encouraged eat fruit in the morning. However, you must separate your carb meals from your proteins and fats. The diet unfortunately does not discuss portion size and doesn’t delve deeply into the importance of proper nutrition. Dieters following this plan must do a little research of their own.
